Your New Chapter Requires New Standards

There comes a moment in growth where you realize that surviving is no longer enough. You want to feel stronger, wiser, more financially secure, and more aligned with the life you know you are capable of building. Yet during challenging seasons, the last thing many people want to hear is, “Raise your standards.”
Why?
Because growth can feel exhausting when you are already carrying so much.
But here is the truth: if we never become uncomfortable enough with where we are, we will never fully grow into who we are meant to become.
Recently, I had a conversation with a client after she attended a conference experience. With excitement in her voice she shared, “You know what? I increased my ask by $400 dollars.”
To someone else, that may sound small.
But to us, it was a huge win.
Why? Because success does not begin with giant leaps. Success begins with activated micro steps. Small decisions. Small boundaries. Small moments where you finally decide, “I deserve more.”
That single increase represented confidence. It represented self-worth.It represented expansion.
And expansion matters.
Research consistently shows that when people are in supportive communities, they are significantly more likely to grow, evolve, and achieve their goals. There is power in proximity. There is power in being around people who challenge your thinking, sharpen your vision, and remind you that your next level is possible.
But growth is not only about what we START doing.
It is also about what we STOP tolerating.
Many leaders are currently in what I call a “New Chapter” learning curve. A season where old habits, old environments, and old relationships no longer fit the future version of themselves.
And that can be uncomfortable.
Sometimes the greatest growth happens when you finally say goodbye to situations that no longer value your time, your expertise, or your energy.
Imagine carrying a bottle of water with a hole in it.
At first, the leak seems small. But over time, it drains everything.
That is what happens when you continue pouring into spaces that dishonor your value. Eventually, resentment grows. Exhaustion grows. And you are no longer able to offer your best work because too much energy is leaking into places never designed to sustain you.
This is why self-introspection matters daily.
Not yearly.Not someday.Daily.
Ask yourself:
What is draining me?
What no longer aligns?
Where am I shrinking instead of expanding?
What would happen if I finally gave myself permission to begin again?
Three Ways to Prepare to Win in 2026
1. Leave Time Robbers Behind
Protect your time fiercely. Distance yourself from people who consistently dishonor your time, your systems, your products, or your expertise. Your time is part of your legacy.
2. Release What No Longer Brings You Joy
Not everything is meant to travel with you into your next chapter. Some routines, obligations, and environments have expired. Give yourself permission to evolve.
3. Say Goodbye to Experiences That Make You Question Your Worth
Healthy growth should stretch you, not constantly diminish you. Stop normalizing environments that make you feel unseen, undervalued, or emotionally depleted.
You deserve spaces that help you rise.
This is your reminder that a new chapter is possible. You are not behind. You are becoming.
Stay plugged into environments that challenge you to think bigger, execute stronger, and lead with intention.
This summer, we are bringing powerful leaders together in Washington, D.C. for the IWBCC Inner Circle experience — a space designed to help leaders finally upgrade personally, professionally, and financially.
Your next level will require a new mindset, new standards, and new rooms.
Give yourself permission to enter them.
Send an email to apply and stay connected to the movement. Your new chapter may be waiting on the other side of one courageous decision.
